Are you looking at getting an InBody scan to track your progress?
You might be starting a challenge that requires a ‘before’ scan. You might have been referred by your Personal Trainer, who has ditched the conventional scales. Are you possibly recovering from an injury and would like to get an insight into muscular imbalances or are you simply curious what you are made of?

What to expect during your first scan
A friendly InBody Operator will take you through your scan, which is a very simple non-invasive process. The scan takes no longer than 60 seconds which is then followed by a full interpretation and explanation of your results – making your scan a completely professional, unintimidating experience.
We recommend following your initial scan with a progress scan within 4-6 weeks, so you can see how your diet and exercise regime is working for you.

What does your scan mean?
The InBody results sheet provides an extensive array of relevant and specific parameters relating to body composition. A full interpretation guide is provided whenever a test is completed. However, a unique feature of InBody is the ability to provide a person’s results in a very simple manner.
The C-Shape
The general characteristics of the C shape are:
- Higher visceral fat level – potentially dangerous internal fat
- Higher body fat mass
- Large difference to arm circumference and arm muscle circumference – arm muscle circumference is the measurement of your arm minus the body fat, a large difference between the arm circumference and the arm muscle circumference is indicative of a large amount of fat in this area and is suggestive of possible hormonal imbalances which may effect fat distribution around the body
- Lower InBody score – this score reflects the overall evaluation of your InBody test, the higher the score the much better your overall result
- This is generally not an ideal body shape and may require further intervention from a Health Care Professional
The I-Shape
The characteristics of the I shape are:
- Generally has an average to lower overall InBody score
- It is still suggested, that the I shape may require intervention to possibly reduce body fat levels and ideally increase muscle mass. However, this is dependant on the specific goals of the individual.
The D-Shape
The main characteristics of the D shape are:
- Lower visceral fat level
- Lower body fat mass
- Above average to high InBody score
- Possibility of having a much lower risk of health related factors in comparison to the C shape
- The D shape is the idealistic shape one should strive to achieve, quite often found on well-trained and active individuals
*Please note that this method is a simple, general interpretation of your results. For a more comprehensive overview please refer to your InBody interpretation guide under the guidance of your healthcare professional.
