To counter the work load it's important to balance out our workload, training and stress levels this year... Just as it's important to build a routine at work, training and home, try and develop a weekly routine for some of the things listed below. You're body, mind and spirit will thank you for it.
Welcome back everyone, good to hear everyone had a great break and we're excited to hear of so many new goals and good intentions for 2019.
Coming back this week saw lots of members a little 'rusty' after the couple weeks off... It's important to drink lots of water, stretch and hit up those post-weights protein shakes to avoid the DOMS (sore muscles).
Being summer, its hot and the air-con is pumping! Please remember to bring a towel and drink bottle to every session. Keep your fluids up during sessions and wipe down any equipment you sweat on.
Some big goals are being thrown around, we're excited... Keep the motivation, build the momentum and smash those weekly targets. As always, please speak to trainers when in the studio if you're not on track - don't waste any time reaching your goals.
The Fat Loss Challenge is around the corner, registration is just $79 this year. If you're going to join in the fun and games, bring a family member or friend to join you as always, your results are better if there's someone outside the gym helping you stay on track. Furthermore this year a big challenge we're setting ourselves is to help someone (or more) lose over 20kg in the 8 weeks, do you know someone that needs our help?

For many of us, the summer holidays are one of the few times each year that we truly 'switch off', unfortunately food choices and exercise routine also fall into this modality unless we've created an enjoyment of healthy food and daily activity.
So what can you do to keep your hard earned results from 2018 and avoid falling into the trap of previous years of returning to 'square one' come January?
The easiest option, exercise daily! Keep it simple, go for a walk around the block or to your nearest park or beach. By simply going for a walk each day (or multiple times each day) this keeps your blood sugars at bay and avoids turning those excess calories into fat.
Option two, keep an eye on what you're consuming and avoid the energy-rich options of high carb and high fat foods. Examples of these include potato, rice and pasta, deep fried foods like chips along with the obvious chips, chocolate and lollies.
The last option, balance the two... If you're going to have the high carb and fatty foods, CONTROL YOURSELF! Don't over consume them and balance it out with a more aggressive exercise session like a run or a quick trip to the studio.
