For many of us, the summer holidays are one of the few times each year that we truly 'switch off', unfortunately food choices and exercise routine also fall into this modality unless we've created an enjoyment of healthy food and daily activity.
So what can you do to keep your hard earned results from 2018 and avoid falling into the trap of previous years of returning to 'square one' come January? The easiest option, exercise daily! Keep it simple, go for a walk around the block or to your nearest park or beach. By simply going for a walk each day (or multiple times each day) this keeps your blood sugars at bay and avoids turning those excess calories into fat. Option two, keep an eye on what you're consuming and avoid the energy-rich options of high carb and high fat foods. Examples of these include potato, rice and pasta, deep fried foods like chips along with the obvious chips, chocolate and lollies. The last option, balance the two... If you're going to have the high carb and fatty foods, CONTROL YOURSELF! Don't over consume them and balance it out with a more aggressive exercise session like a run or a quick trip to the studio.
